Inject

Learn how to administer injections to an FIP cat, including preparing the medication, distracting the cat, choosing the injection site, disinfecting, injection techniques, and other methods and tips, making it easier for cat parents to treat their cats at home.

Precautions

  1. It is recommended to shave the hair at the injection site.
  2. Apply a cold compress to the injection site after the injection to reduce the cat’s pain.
  3. The medication can be stored in the refrigerator, which can effectively reduce the cat’s discomfort.
  4. Apply a warm compress an hour after the injection to promote drug absorption.
  5. After the injection, keep the cat’s skin elevated and maintain this position for about 30 seconds to reduce the likelihood of the medication leaking from the injection site.
  6. If you notice any leakage, immediately clean the area with alcohol and keep the skin and fur dry.
  7. If you notice any swelling or skin damage, change the injection site.
